Countries and languages
How it works
Select the states you need
When ordering SBLCore, you select the states for which you want to create safety data sheets. Additional supported states can be added at any time.
Create SDS in compliance with legislation
The software automatically creates a safety data sheet in accordance with the requirements of the selected state. Based on the resulting classification, it adds the correct phrases in line with the applicable legislation.
Translate into the languages of individual states
You can translate each safety data sheet into the languages of the states you have active with just a few clicks. The software preserves the document structure and adapts the text to the requirements of the respective state.
Always up-to-date SDS without effort
The software monitors changes in European and national legislation of individual states. When regulations change, it notifies you. It suggests revisions, creates a new version and archives the original.

We prepare translations to be accurate, clear and compliant with applicable legislation. Each translation is reviewed and regularly updated in line with changes in regulations and the professional terminology of the given Country.
We monitor changes in chemical legislation across the entire European Economic Area as well as in individual countries. As soon as new requirements arise, we update the software in a timely manner. If the change concerns a specific Safety data sheet, the software flags it and automatically suggests the necessary adjustments during the update. The proposed adjustments then only need to be confirmed or adapted as required.
The software continuously checks the format of the safety data sheet, the substances used and other mandatory data. Based on this check, it marks the sheet for update – in orange when the validity is approaching its end and in red if it is no longer valid.
The management of countries differs depending on the software edition. In SBLCore Blue, you manage countries in the “Manage subscription” menu, which you open by clicking on your account in the top right corner of the software or after logging in on the website. In the “Countries” tab, you will find an overview of all active countries, including languages and their activation dates. In this tab, you can add and remove countries. A country is activated immediately after being added and can be used right away. It can be removed no sooner than 30 days after addition, or you can set in advance the date from which it will no longer be used. With a perpetual licence of SBLCore Green, you cannot add a new country yourself. Please contact your sales representative or customer support.
The safety data sheet remains in the list even after the country for which it was created has been deactivated. In the overview, it is displayed in grey because without an active country its compliance with current legislation cannot be verified. The sheet can still be edited, but during preview and export the software hides certain sections. A PCN notification cannot be submitted without an active country. The safety data sheet can also be converted into the language of another country. If that country is active, the software creates a full safety data sheet.
The software translates texts according to the phrases stored in the “Phrases” tab. If you prepare your own texts in advance, including their translations into the required languages in the “Phrases” tab, the software will automatically use them during translation. However, if you create a phrase only while working on a specific SDS and do not add its translations, the software will not translate it. To make it clear which sentences have not been translated, they are highlighted in blue.
