# Export of the safety data sheet

The safety data sheet can be saved in several formats using the **Export** button. The button is divided into an upper and a lower section.

The upper section of the button exports the selected items to the internal SBL format, while the lower section displays a list from which you can export to other formats.

You can export to the following formats:
* **PDF** - suitable for sharing data, you can protect it against copying
* **DOCX/RTF** - you can edit it and open it in Word and similar programs
* **JSON/XML** - format for machine processing
* **SBL** - internal format (open it in SBLCore)

The PDF can be saved directly using the **Save as PDF** button in the toolbar.
